What this is

A simple weekly space to be heard and move one step forward.

Connection & Direction is a free weekly online group for adults in London who want more confidence, connection, motivation, and practical direction.

It is for people who may feel isolated, low in confidence, culturally disconnected, unsure about work or volunteering, or unclear about what could help next.

How it works

Listen → Reflect → Connect → Act

Listen

A respectful space where you can speak honestly about what is happening, without pressure to share more than feels right.

Reflect

Facilitators and peers help notice themes, hopes, barriers, confidence, relationships, belonging, and possible next steps.

Connect

The group offers contact, encouragement, cultural understanding, and signposting where another support route may help.

Act

Each session closes with one small practical step towards wellbeing, learning, volunteering, work, relationships, or community life.

What happens

A one-hour facilitated online group.

  • Welcome and clear group boundaries.
  • Short grounding and check-in.
  • Shared reflection around one theme.
  • Time to hear from others and respond respectfully.
  • One practical next step before closing.

What it is not

  • Not therapy, counselling, or clinical treatment.
  • Not crisis support or an emergency service.
  • Not a job centre or guaranteed employment route.
  • Not legal, housing, financial, or immigration advice.
  • Not a religious group.

Safety

Respectful boundaries are part of the offer.

Registration is required before receiving the Zoom link. Sessions are not recorded. Cameras are encouraged but not mandatory. Participants agree to respect privacy, avoid pressure or advice-giving, and follow facilitator guidance.

If you are in immediate danger or need urgent crisis support, this group is not the right support. Please use emergency or crisis services.

Languages

Mainly in English, with Polish and Romanian clarification where possible.

The group is open to all adults 18+ in London. Polish and Romanian support may be available for registration, clarification, and access needs where possible. The first pilot does not promise full live translation.

Facilitators

Grounded in community support practice.

The pilot is led by founders with experience across homelessness support, vulnerable-adult services, third-sector work, community support, reflective practice, and management.
